Dodoma Rural Agribusiness VSLA Training
The Dodoma Rural Agribusiness project is designed to tackle economic marginalization of women. Through VSLAs (Village Savings and Loans Associations), women learn basic financial bookkeeping, small enterprise management, and modern poultry farming. The project has registered 15 women groups in Bahi and Chamwino districts, providing capital grants to kickstart poultry co-operatives.
Project Objectives
- Establish 15 self-sustaining women VSLAs.
- Train 500 women in climate-smart agribusiness.
- Provide micro-grants for poultry co-operatives.
- Connect groups to municipal buyers.
Key Achievements
- 15 VSLAs registered and operational.
- Over 450 women graduated from agribusiness bootcamp.
- 5 chicken houses built with local resources.
- Financial savings reached over 12 million TZS collectively.
